ADSM recognizes that most students receive financial assistance from parents and/or various sources of financial aid. Nevertheless, the ultimate responsibility for satisfying all financial obligations rests with the student. Fall and spring semester account statements are addressed to the student and mailed to the billing address the student has provided. Notices of miscellaneous charges during the semester are sent only to students’ ADSM e-mail accounts.

All bills are due by the date indicated on the account statement. Fall semester payments typically are due the first week of August, and spring semester payments typically are due the first week of January. Students who receive financial aid from outside sources must file documentation that establishes the amount and payment terms of such aid by tuition due date. Failure to receive a bill, or receipt of a bill later than expected, does not eliminate payment obligations or prevent the assessment of late payment penalties.

Tuition shall be charged on a “flat-rate” basis each semester. Additional tuition shall be charged on a per-credit basis for overloads. Each undergraduate student must have a minimum of eight semesters of tuition, or the equivalent, charged and paid before the Bachelor degree will be granted. Each graduate student must have a minimum of two semesters of tuition, or the equivalent, charged and paid before the Master degree will be granted.

ADSM expects students to be enrolled in a full course load of 15-17 credit hours each semester. Any request for a variance from the full-time, flat-rate tuition charge, for either a reduced course load or a course overload, must be submitted in a Petition for Variance to Academic Services for approval 24 hours prior to the end of the add/drop period.

Late Payment Penalties

Students who have not settled their accounts by the semester payment due date will be assessed an AED 1,000 late fee, and may be denied course registration and add/drop privileges, and/or withdrawn from courses.

Students who fail to meet their financial obligations to ADSM are not entitled to receive a diploma or official transcript, and are not entitled to the use of academic, administrative, and auxiliary services, and facilities. Unpaid accounts will be referred for collection action, with the cost of collection to be borne by the student.

Late payment penalty appeals should be directed via e-mail to the Bursar’s Office within 10 days of receiving notification that the penalty has been imposed.
